Importance of drawing: How does drawing play a great role in many aspects of our lives?

It’s a pity; there still are people who despise the art of drawing nowadays.                                                                            If they knew how it gives so many good services to humanity. Do you know that without that famed art the world could’ve not advanced this way?                                                                                                                   Do you realize that drawing is present everywhere?

Visual arts:                                                                                                                                                                                                           obviously the most well known appliance of drawing.                                                                                                                   Painters, sculptors, cartoonists, comics artists … for all of these artists, drawing is a foremost requirement and what they do is just to apply drawing those art forms.

Web design:                                                                                                                                                                                                Everybody knows that a well designed website must be pleasing to the eye of the viewer.                                                      Here again drawing finds its importance because the practice of drawing develops the visualization of the practicing’s eyes.                                                                                                                                                            The more you draw the more you become a good observer, someone who knows how to please eyes of the viewer of what you did.

Therefore a good draftsman could easily become a good web designer provided that some basics of the web design.

Police Investigation:                                                                                                                                                                                               Do you know that skilled draftsmen give great services to the Police? I see you over there, eyes wide open asking how?                                                                                                                                  Well this is how obviously you must have seen posted somewhere Mr. XXXX wanted for…by the Police …and the picture of the suspect is added to the inscription such a way that someone who sees the suspect could report to the Police.                                                                                                                                 What if there is no picture of the suspect but instead…fortunately there is witness (es) who have seen the suspect?                                                                                                                                                                                    This is where the Police sketch artist, someone who knows the art of drawing intervenes.

The Police sketch artist interviews witness (es) who have seen the suspect, gathering information about the appearance of the suspect. After he/she gets that information, he draws a sketch to match that description.

Drawing Batman vs. Wolverine

           

 

 At last this is guys and girls; this is my way of drawing.                                                                                                                                         

1.      Everything starts with an idea because without an idea it you’ll unable to draw anything.    

   My idea is: drawing Batman kicking Wolverine. The reason why I chose these characters …first they are among my favorites, besides they are well known even for non-comics fans.

2.       Interpreting the idea by visual images: penciling. Imagining how the scene would look like and lay it out in pencils.

   Inking your pencil drawing. No matter how beautiful a pencil drawing may be, it cannot me printed unless ink is applied to it. However you can ink digitally using software like adobe Photoshop, illustrator…                                                                                                                                                Both ways have their advantages.  Here I hand-inked  the pencils

   Coloring: applying colors to the inked artwork.

Lettering: writing words spoken by characters, sound effects... normally those spoken words are inside the word balloon.

How it is done

Hello everybody! I am sorry for all this time without being at your services.

Once when I showed a final drawing that was colored with Photoshop to a  friend of mine he asked me when it was done just from the beginning. So I'll try to explain how I do it for those who might have the same questions.
But first let me first show some of my inked pages. If you can guess the process yourself it’ll be more better for you.

What made Jack Kirby’s art so impressive?

It is mentioned that this blog deals with many subject, discussion included however there is no post dealing with discussion yet. NOW it’s time for it .LET’S DISCUSS! The topic of today is “what made Jack `King’ Kirby’s art so impressive?”

Many people in the comics business consider Kirby a master in the field. Everything that is said has a reason to be said.

1.      Con: Kirby’s drawings are not very realistic: Kirby exaggerate the anatomy of characters, his unrealistic shadings give his characters an extraterrestrial appearance, distorted drawings, rough edges, exaggerated perspective…

 Some people who think what make a good drawing is that it ought to be very realistic fail to understand why Kirby is such a celebrated comics artist. Gustave Courbet who founded the art movement called realism believed that the artist should be realistic and paint everyday events involving ordinary people.

Pro: it seems like many comics fans don’t care if there superheroes looks very realistic or not. Fans are rather more interested in what is expressed in those drawings, and Kirby was a great storyteller. Once Sir Joshua Reynolds a British painter and writer of 18^th century stated: “A mere copier of nature can never produce anything great”

2.      Con: Some of Kirby’s superheroes have same faces. Just look on such superheroes drawn by Kirby: Captain America, Orion of the new gods, Mr. Miracle… you’ll are more likely to find they have unmistakably the same shape.

Pro: he always hides their faces behind masks.

3.      Con: he made his characters wear otherworldly costumes. Have a look at silver surfer, Galactus, high evolutionary, Dr.Doom, Mr. Miracle…

Pro:  some of those characters have weird origins as well.

4.      Con:  his drawings always look distorted, rough as if they need refinement and some adjustments.

Pro: they always look alive and exciting.

      Murphy Anderson interviewed by Gary M. Carter in 1992 said about him: “at the time, I couldn’t quite understand why Kirby drew such ‘distorted’ pictures.  (…. ) It was very effective, and I’ve always admired that about his work”. 

        Jack Kirby’s contributions to the creation and popularity of Marvel comics are immeasurable. He also created the fourth world omnibus for DC comics after leaving Marvel. He is credited many innovative drawing techniques still used in comics industry such the famous ‘Kirby dots’. It’s said that he was the most influential ever to work in comics industry and Mark Evanier called him ‘the king of comics’.                                  

            

Here it is my first post ! I did pencils and inks on paper,scanned it, and colored with photoshop .I  tachpad  user and it was not easy to do this 'coz I don't have much experience in coloring with photoshop.I do still have too much to learn about it
